What We Do
About Our Nutrition Education
At the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, we empower our community to build joyful, balanced relationships with food through evidence-based nutrition education and increased access to healthy foods.
Through practical tools, interactive activities, and supportive guidance, we help neighbors develop sustainable wellness habits, from nourishing meals and movement to stress management, sleep, and self-care. Our approach is pro-empowerment, helping people feel confident in making choices that work for their lives, improve health over the long term, and strengthen health equity across Santa Barbara County.
Our Programs
Our programs emphasize listening to your body and developing body awareness, helping neighbors recognize hunger, fullness, and satisfaction in ways that honor individual needs. We encourage the understanding that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle, focusing on practical and sustainable ways to add nutrients to your daily life rather than restrictive eating or strict rules. We want to celebrate and explore foods and their nutrients in a fun and engaging way, helping neighbors discover new flavors, experiment with recipes, and see nutrition as an enjoyable part of everyday life.
